The Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) licenses in China were awarded for the first time in 2014 with the twin objectives to increase investments and to drive prices down especially in the rural areas. Since the award of the licenses, the MVNO market has already seen a rapid rise to 20 million customers from 2 million during 2015, showcasing 10X growth.
